The Monacan High School Band is an organization of students and staff who pride themselves on excellence – excellence in our personal performance, our section’s performance, our band’s performance, and in the way we represent ourselves and our school. We are proud to be recognized as a twelve-time Virginia Honor Band for achieving superior ratings at state marching and concert band assessments. This is the highest honor that can be bestowed upon a high school band program by the VBODA.
Monacan has also been recognized as a thirteen-time VMEA Blue Ribbon School for superior performances by the Monacan Symphonic Band, Chorus, and Orchestra at their state assessments.
There are a variety of bands with which you can become involved, such as the award-winning Marching Chiefs, the Symphonic and Concert Bands, the Jazz Band, the Percussion Ensemble, and the Pep Band. Parents can also get involved by volunteering to become a part of the Band Boosters. There are a wide variety of performances and activities that occur throughout the year, so look around the site and check back frequently to see what’s happening!
